Sterling, what program do you use for screen captures? The company that makes Camtasia has an awesome (and free) little program called Jing that makes the whole process of taking and sharing quick still and video captures and sharing them a breeze. I use Jing all the time, most for quick videos for the VA. I can make a quick written list of what I want him to do, then make a video so he can see me walk through the steps and tell him in exactly what I mean. The only downside is that there is a 10 minute record limit.
Jay and I both use Camtasia for the stuff we are putting out into the community. Mostly that is because we don’t want the 10 min time limit and we add title screens and even ‘live action’ video as well.
Great interview with Yanik Silver. I just wanted to comment on one point mentioned in the conversation about being an expert. I wasted alot of time figuring out how to get people to see me as an expert. I didn’t think I could label myself as one and be credible.
Boy was I wrong!
If you have credible information that help’s people then claim your title and provide content to back it up. You can also rely on other people’s knowledge via interviews etc.
WOW - Thanks for a great site and the podcasts! I have been running an online art collective for the last few years (out of passion as it made no money) and was recently on the verge of scrapping it. I came across your podcasts and some new tools and have now done a complete site redesign and have slowly been integrating the tools and tips you suggest. Thanks for the newfound fervor to keep my site going and actually make a go of it as a real business!

Its is really nice to see you guys reaching the top of your game and still going strong, listening to your progress over the years and seeing your success has been wonderful and it is clear that you have earned every inch of success you have attainted, I can only imagine that 10 years from now you will be regarded on some wiki post of bringing an entire generation of new people to the online business world.
I thought of a possible domain name that will more than likely be of real use to you guys down the road and registered it before someone else did and would either try and piggyback on your success or simply extort you for it later.
I think it would be great for your possible next gen of video podcasts, etc especially when web 3.0 becomes the norm.
I hope this domain will be of some use to you guys down the road, just let me know how you would like me to get the domain sent off to you so that you are in control of it. ( and no I dont want any money or anything for it )
PS. Jay I am glad you gave the airborne a shot before you hit BA, that stuff has saved me from getting sick numerous times I can only imagine.

I have just recently started listening to your podcast and am getting tremendous value out of it, so first of all thank you for the great content. The reason for my email is my company has developed a software product that is geared toward web entrepreneurs and you discussed this in one of your podcast suggesting to build alliances and affiliates with people and companies that have strong mailing lists. So first of all I would like to share with you what my company has developed because I believe that your listeners would benefit greatly with what we have to offer, and second where would I be able to find a list of people with lists?
